Return to Origin (RTO) occurs when a shipment cannot be delivered to the recipient and is sent back to the sender. Common reasons for RTO include incorrect address, recipient unavailable, refused delivery, or COD payment not collected. RTO shipments incur additional charges as the courier company has to transport the package twice. For e-commerce businesses, high RTO rates can significantly impact profitability and operational efficiency.
